Regulatory Stock Review Plan

Overview

This Regulatory Stock Review Plan is a description of planned reviews of regulations that the National Energy Board (NEB) is proposing within a 3 year period. It is intended to give Canadians, including businesses and Indigenous peoples, and trading partners, greater opportunity to inform the reviews of regulations and to plan for the future.

On 8 February 2018, Bill C-69 was tabled in Parliament. If passed, Bill C-69 will, among other things, replace the National Energy Board Act (NEB Act) with the Canadian Energy Regulator Act (CER Act). To ensure the efficient functioning of the CER Act, should it become law, anticipatory regulations are being developed. These anticipatory regulations are also captured in this Regulatory Stock Review Plan. In the meantime, the NEB continues to implement existing legislation and related regulations remain in force.

The Regulatory Stock Review Plan identifies a NEB contact point for the planned reviews. The Regulatory Stock Review Plan will be adjusted and updated over time to reflect the NEB’s regulatory priorities and changes to the operating environment.

The National Energy Board welcomes feedback on this Regulatory Stock Review Plan, and on the various components of our regulatory framework, at any time, by sending an email to Regulatory.Framework@cer-rec.gc.ca.
