Proactive Disclosure
The Government of Canada has enhanced transparency and oversight of public resources to strengthen public sector management, including the disclosure of financial information by departments and agencies.
By making this information available on departmental websites, Canadians and Parliament are better able to hold the government and public sector officials to account.
The government requires the mandatory publication on departmental website of travel and hospitality expenses for select government officials and contracts entered into by the Government of Canada of more than $10,000, with only limited exceptions, such as national security.
