Yukon

In 2018, Yukon generated about 0.5 terawatt hours (TW.h) of electricity. Yukon generates the majority of its electricity from hydro sources. In 2018, hydroelectricity accounted for 94% of total generation. (Figure 27)

In 2017, annual electricity consumption per capita in Yukon was 11.1 megawatt hours (MW.h).

Electricity Provider

The Yukon Electrical Company Limited (an ATCO Company) and Yukon Energy, are the electricity providers in Yukon. They are regulated by the Yukon Utilities Board (YUB).

Energy Charge

The electricity rate for the first 1 000 kilowatt hour (kW.h) is 12.14 ¢/kW.h. Between 1 000 kW.h and 2  500 kW.h the rate is 12.82 ¢/kW.h. For energy in excess of 2500 kW.h, the charge is 13.99 ¢/kW.h.

Minimum Monthly Charge

There is a minimum monthly charge of $14.65.
